The process begins in the sensory world of the tannery. Here, the hide undergoes a rebirth. First comes purification. Then, the true transformation begins: tanning. Immersed in solutions rich in vegetable tannins, the raw hide’s physical essence is changed by natural chemistry. It becomes flexible, strong, and enduring—a material ready for the future.
After tanning, it is time to give the leather its identity. It spends days in deep, artisanal dye baths to achieve its true tone. Whether the richness of dark brown, the nobility of black, or the boldness of crimson… Whichever color it takes, this becomes its permanent signature. Once dyed, masters pass the leather under large rollers to refine the surface, celebrating its natural pattern.
Its final destination is the master artisan’s workbench. Here, under the command of a ruler and a precision blade, it is given a new life. From the large hide, precise components are separated: the playing surface, the outer casing, the detailed inlays. Every cut is deliberate.
